We have dog friendly lodges. You can filter to find these! You’ll also find that much of North Wales is dog friendly too – shops, restaurants etc. With lots of lovely walks on your doorstep, your pooch will love it just as much as you will!

We welcome, responsible dog owners! We love furry friends, but there are some guidelines to ensure everyone enjoys their time at Heron’s Lake.

Dog Breeds Not Permitted:
• Pit Bull Terriers
• Dogo Argentinos
• Fila Brasileiros
• Japanese Tosas
• XL Bullies

Other Pets:
• Please inquire with the General Manager before booking if you have a different type of pet.

Important Rules:
• All dogs must be on a leash at all times.
• You, as the lead guest, are responsible for your dog’s behavior.
• Unruly dogs or those affecting other guests’ comfort will be asked to leave.
• If we have concerns about safety or control, you and your party may be asked to leave without a refund.

Our check in time as standard is from 4:00pm and check out is at 10:00am. This can be changed by adding an early check in or late check out to your booking.

We do offer a 2:00pm early check in for £18.00, a 12:00pm late check out for £18.00 or book both together for £30.00

Absolutely. Herons Lake is perfect for families as well as being a romantic destination for couples too! You’ll find so much to do for families throughout North Wales and Cheshire whatever the weather.

Yes they do. All our lodges are equipped with towels and full bedding to accommodate the number of guests the lodge caters for.

We do recommnd you bring extra towels if you are planning on using the hot tub a fair bit.

We supply washing up products in the lodge kitchens. Other toiletries and food supplies can be purchased from our onsite shop.

We take a £60 security deposit for the security of the lodge and its belongings. This is fully refunded within 24 hours of you leaving the lodge as long as there is no damage.

If the booking is made through our website, a 50% is taken upon booking and then the remaining 50% is then taken 48 hours before you arrive along with the security deposit.

Yes we do. Gift vouchers can be purchased in denominations of £50, £100 & £200 (minimum order £50).

Gift vouchers are sent to the recipient via email. Gift vouchers must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

When redeeming your gift voucher on 07951 446637, please quote the unique voucher code located in the middle of your voucher.

Gift Voucher Terms & Conditions:

1. You will have 12 months from the date of purchase (as stated on your voucher) to redeem.
2. Gift vouchers can only be redeemed when booking direct through Herons Lake Retreat, vouchers cannot be used when booking through Hoseasons or any other 3rd party booking agent.
3. If there is any excess monetary value to your voucher, it may be redeemed in one or more of the following ways:

– Early check-ins, Late check-outs

– BBQ hire

– DVD hire

– Bathrobe hire

– Special anniversary/birthday packages

We don’t offer an NHS discount however with proof of your NHS employment (blue light card or ID badge), we are able to add either an £8 early check in or late check out to your booking.

We don’t actively stock either of our two lakes, but we do have a number of brown/rainbow trout that has filtered down from the local fisheries.

Guests are welcome to fish on both lakes between the hours of 10am-6pm. All we ask is that you use a 8/9 pound line with barbless hooks & anything caught  is returned back to the lake alive.

Our flexible booking pass allows you to change the date of your booking or the name on your booking, with no admin fee, up to 48 hours before your arrival date.

Terms and conditions

– Flexible Booking Pass can be used for one change only.

– Changes are classed as, change of date or change of name on booking. Please note that if the price of your accommodation on your new dates is higher, you will be required to pay the difference in price.

– New dates must be within a 12 month period from the date of your request.

– No refund option is available.

– No credit option is available.

– This is NOT cancellation insurance.

Yes we have  WIFI in all our lodges, as well a great phone and 4G service onsite. All of the televisions in the lodges are smart TVs so you can connect them to your personal hotspot to watch Netflix, if you wish to.

We are perfectly placed with easy access to the A55 to get to Chester, Snowdonia and the coast. There’s so much to do – we’ve popped it all on to our EXPLORE section on website which covers places to eat and drink, shop, walks & hikes, towns & cities, adventure & thrill seeking activities, attractions as well as heritage, culture & nature!
